2 Corinthians 3:16-18
Sermon Notes
But we all with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory as by the Spirit of the Lord.
~ 2 Corinthians 3:18
For anyone who hears the Word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
~ James 1:23-24
Unveiled
ἀνακαλύπτω anakalýptō;
ana = (in the sense of reversal);
kalýptō: Veil, hide, or to cover.
Beholding as in a mirror
κατοπτρίζομαι katoptrízomai;
from a compound of “kata” and a derivative of “optridzo”;
to mirror oneself, i.e. to see reflected (figuratively):
—behold as in a glass.
How would you really live if you believed you were God's reflection?
[You] Have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of Him that created Him. ~ Colossians 3:10
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children and walk in love, as Christ has loved us. ~ Ephesians 5:1
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example.
~ Philippians 3:17
Remember those who lead you, who speak the Word of God to you and consider the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. ~ Hebrews 13:7
Our attitude about others is going to reflect their attitude about us to other people.
Does your attitude reflect the results you long for in yourself? In others?
And how we are perceived has a significant impact on the circles around us.
Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
~ 1 Cor. 11:1
You can get face to face with your greatest fear when you’ve been beholding God.
God is longing for you to get into His presence.
Behold Him, and see certain situations start turning around.
Someone here needs their distortion to disappear.
