2 Peter 1:10 - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2 Peter 1:11 - For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
How are you showing the world you belong to God?
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
- Acts 4:13
If we continually lean into confirming our calling, we will never fall away.

Sermon Discussion Questions - Printable Copy
1. Please read 2 Peter 1:10-15. A preacher once asked the question, “If you were to stand trial for being a Christian, how much evidence would there be to convict you?” As we studied 2 Peter 1:10–15, we spent some time considering Peter’s challenge to make our “calling and election sure.” How are you showing the world you belong to God?
2. Cultivating Christ consciousness requires consistent concentration on the fundamentals of the faith. We should never leave how we came to believe. Have those in your Connect Group list the top five fundamentals of faith in Christ, in order of priority. Have several people read their list out loud, give a brief explanation of why they are in the particular order listed, and why they feel these are priorities.
3. On Sunday, we were given this spiritual equation:
This Passage + These Concerns = New Outcome.
Please share a time in your life when you remembered an old verse from the Bible, and because of your circumstance, it had a new, significant meaning.
4. If you knew you were going to die, what would you talk about? What would be the most important truth you would want to pass on?
2 Peter 1:12 - Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
Cultivating Christ’s consciousness, is also a constant call to the fundamentals of the faith.
We should never leave how we came to believe.
Continue to build on the basics.
Let’s challenge each other to be in remembrance of the truths we already know.
In remembrance of the old passages, we often see something new.
Old Passage + Present Concerns
= a New Outcome
2 Peter 1:13 - Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
2 Peter 1:14 - Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
2 Peter 1:15 - Moreover, I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
If you knew you were going to die, what would you talk about?
Consider the most important truths you are passing on.
We can all be in “the ministry of remembrance."
