Remedy for Discerning Deception = Recollection
 
2 Peter 1:19b - You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.
 
2 Peter 3:3-4 - Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
 
Don’t be discouraged by the deception. Know the work God has called you to.
 
Don’t take cues from Satan by developing your own morality.
 
2 Peter 3:5-7 - For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store,
reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Steps to Discerning Deception “Without”
1. Don’t be discouraged.
 
2. New believers must be taught the Word of God.
 
3. More mature believers must be “the reminders.”
 
4. Know the importance of the second coming of Christ.
